Tomatoes not your thing? Then crush a grape or two instead!

Usually (but not always) two days after the famous Tomatina tomato throwing festival the Spaniards are at it again. This time its all about grapes.
Several lorries show up at around mid day in the town centre and dump 40 tons of the local Spanish Garnacha Tintorera grapes. From then on its a complete free for all!
This fiesta in La Pobla del Duc, Valencia, Spain aims to promote the wine-growing tradition of the town where 70 per cent of the population works in the agricultural sector and the grape has been the main source of income for most of the locals for many years. La Raima also signifies the end of the grape harvest and the start of Winter.
Food & Drink
Eat Valencian paella, made with rice, chicken, rabbit and greens. Or try our traditional Spanish tortilla to get yourself in the mood. Drink Agua de Valencia, a heady mix of Cava, orange juice, vodka and gin.
